The benefits of healthy eating are these days being given more publicity than ever before and there are many reasons for this. Poor diet is a contributing factor in health conditions such as heart disease and high blood pressure which can put a drain on the economy. Even though we’re incessantly being counseled to adopt healthy eating habits, it is also easier than ever to depend on fast food and other convenience items that are not good for us. It is likely that a lot of people believe it will take so much effort to eat a healthy diet or that they have to make a large scale change to their way of life. In reality, however, just making a couple of modest changes can positively impact everyday eating habits.
The first change you need to make is to pay more attention to what you buy when you go to the grocery because it is likely that you are inclined to pick up many of the things without thinking. As an example, if you eat cereal for your breakfast, do you ever check to see what the sugar and salt content is before buying? One nutritious alternative that can give you a positive start to your day is oatmeal. By adding fresh fruit, you can make oatmeal taste better and, before you know it, you will have made a positive change to your diet.
As you can see, it is not difficult to begin making healthy eating a part of your daily lifestyle.
We hope you got benefit from reading it, now let’s go back to soy kalamansi chops recipe. You can have soy kalamansi chops using 14 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you do it.
The ingredients needed to prepare Soy Kalamansi Chops:
- You need 2 pcs pork chops
- Take 1/2-3/4 c water
- Provide 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- Get 1 onion, sliced as rings
- Provide 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- Take 2 Tbsp Liquid Seasoning (I use Knorr)
- Use 1/2 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
- Provide 2-3 pcs kalamansi (or use lemon)
- Take Dash seasoned flour
- Use Marinade
- Take Squeeze Kalamansi
- Prepare Oyster sauce
- Provide Soy sauce
- Get to taste Salt & pepper
Steps to make Soy Kalamansi Chops:
- Marinate the chops in the listed ingredients. Salt and pepper each side, rub on each side with your fingers or a spoon the soy sauce, oyster sauce and squeeze a kalamansi (you can use a lemon) on both sides. Refrigerate and leave it for at least an hour.
- In a non-stick pan, heat the water with the crushed garlic. Add the porkchops and set aside the marinade.
- Let the chops simmer for 30-45 minutes covered until tender, half way turning it on the other side.
- The water should have reduced, if its still too much, remove a few tablespoons of it- it depends on how much sauce/saltiness u want. Pour the marinade in. Add more soy sauce, Liquid seasoning and a squeeze of kalamansi as desired. Sprinkle seasoned flour (I use Tasty Boy or Crispy Chicken Fry. You can use ordinary flour too) on each Chop. This will also thicken the sauce.
- Drop in the onion rings. Cover and simmer a few minutes.
- Plate and serve the Chops in the sauce or on the side. I only fished out the porkchops for a cleaner photo heehee. Enjoy this dish by spooning the sauce over rice.
