  1. Get cup red lentils
  2. You need fried onions
  3. Prepare red dried chillies
  4. You need Salt
  5. Use plain flour
  6. You need Vegetable oil for fry

Instructions to make Daal puri (red lentils puri):
  1. Boil the red lentils with pinch of turmeric. Lentils should be boiled half. So when boiling add little amount of water.
  2. Now mix with fried onions, chillies and coriander. You can add few drops of mustard oil but this is an optional. Then take a deep frying pan. Pour vegetable oil half of the fry pan. Now make the dough with plain flour. Make a small dough and fill with lentils. Then roll them with rolling pin. Now fry them. We serve them with tamarind chutney.

Some people like to use dry chilli for this but my personal choice is green chilli (if possible Bombay chilli). Heat enough oil for deep fried pan on medium heat. Make all puries at the same process and put on a flat large tray. A deliciously light, nutty, delicate and subtly spiced daal made from a moreish combination of earthy split yellow chickpeas, coconut flakes and whole spices.
